Endowing WRTBU

Office of the Chairman, The Organizing Committee Baptist University

Endowing WRTBU

Much money could be raised as we honor individuals, institutions and corporations by naming features of the University in honor of Sainted Memories of loved ones and of well-meaning local and international patrons of the WRTBU.

Trustees are generally expected to provide work, wisdom and wealth to the institutions they serve. Hence, trusteeship plus naming a feature may get support as follows:

Over the last 142 years of our existence as LBMEC, the Convention has had over twenty elementary and high schools around the country, all these schools were named in honor of the sainted memories of Presidents and significant players in the life of our Convention; today, we have only three Baptist Mission schools. As we launch the WRTBU in the sainted memory of our beloved former President Dr. W.R. Tolbert, Jr., We do this with the Tolbert Family at the table with high hopes that they, with the WRTBU/BOT and leadership of the LBMEC will take the lead in endowing the WRTBU, with a donation, however small, each year. It is to this end that we create this income line item where various features of the University will be named in honor and memory of one-self, or loved ones with the hopes that it will generate perpetual income to the university. We have already spoken to some, many are excited and one has already committed, hence the numbers suggest a First Year projection from the Board of Trustees in amount of $250,000.00.  Anyone may Participate

Endowment Funds:

All funds collected in the purchase of a feature will be used 50/50: half in an untouchable secured interest bearing investment fund where only part of the interest may be used in not less than five years of its establishment, the other 50% goes into operations, scholarship, and research.

Note:

As your Chairman, I will endow the Entrance Door of the Women Dorm, in sainted memory of my mother, Teacher Amanda B. Hill, my Aunty & Mother, Mrs. Penelopia A. Chenoweth, and my wife’s mother, Chloe Chesson Brown Bryant. Each Trustee is encouraged to endow a feature in memory of oneself or a loved one. Endowment Certificates and memorials are being created.
